Position: Accounts Receivable / Collections Clerk

Location: Tampa, FL

Pay: $22-$24/hr

The Accounts Receivable / Collections Clerk supports the team by ensuring timely customer payments and accurate billing records. Responsibilities include preparing and posting payments, generating invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and assisting with collections activities. The role also helps reconcile accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and support month-end reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post, and verify customer payments and AR transactions.
  • Generate and send invoices; assist with monthly billing statements.
  • Monitor past-due accounts, send collections correspondence, and contact delinquent customers.
  • Research discrepancies and support account reconciliations with the Collections Manager.
  • Create reports on account status and assist with month-end closings.
  • Resolve billing issues and maintain accurate account records.

Required Skills

  • Strong organization, accuracy, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, invoicing, and collections.
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of accounts receivable or collections experience.
